Dunlop Series Practice 1 Highlights

Off the back of his dominant run in Perth, Cameron Waters has set the pace in the opening practice of the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series at the NP300 Navara Winton SuperSprint.

The Prodrive Racing Australia prodigy topped the time sheets with a 1min24.7945sec lap early on in the session, and held the fastest time for the remainder of the run, the only driver in the '24s' in his ENZED Falcon.

The 40-minute session was interrupted by a red flag in the last 10 minutes, believed to be for Brett Hobson, who left the circuit at turn 11 and looked to have a loose wheel nut on his Challenger Holden.

Chris Pither jumped to second once the session resumed, just 0.41sec behind Waters and 0.06sec quicker than third placed Andrew Jones, who put in a good showing in his Brad Jones Racing Holden.

Eggleston duo Ant Pedersen and Paul Dumbrell completed the top five, with another 40-minute session to follow later today at the NP300 Navara Winton SuperSprint at 2.05pm local time.
