Prodrive Racing Australia's Cameron Waters has confirmed his impressive speed this afternoon, setting the quickest time again in final practice at the Castrol EDGE Townsville 400.

The current leader of the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series topped the time sheets in first practice this morning, and managed to better that time in practice two by almost a second.

His quick time in practice two - a 1min14.49 - was set in the final stages of the session, with Paul Dumbrell setting the second quickest time, 0.32secs adrift of Waters.

Last year's round winner Chris Pither ended the final session of the day third quickest, while Ant Pedersen was the first Eggleston Motorsport Commodore home in fourth.

Todd Hazelwood was fifth ahead of Jack Le Brocq and Shae Davies, while Jack Le Brocq was eighth fastest.
