United Petroleum has been unveiled as the new title sponsor of Paul Morris' Dunlop Series entry for this weekend's Castrol Townsville 500 Driven by TAFE Queensland.

Morris' car will carry the United Petroleum colours this weekend on the streets of Townsville - one of the biggest V8 Supercar events of the year - and for the remaining three rounds of the Dunlop Series at the Coates Hire Ipswich 400, Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000and Sydney 500.

United's support of Morris affirms the company's position as the official fuel supplier to the V8 Supercars Championship and is further leveraged through a partnership with Morris' Performance Driving Centre on the Gold Coast, which doubles as the V8 Supercars Official Driving Experience.

"To have United Petroleum join our program is fantastic, they are a great Australian-owned company that is putting back into the community and our sport," said Morris.

"Having United as the official fuel supplier to the Performance Driving Centre shows a further commitment to Australia - we're the nation's premier driver training facility and the programs operated here have provided countless people with valuable skills.

"It is also cool to have United involved with the V8 Supercars Official Driving Experience program which gets you as close to the real thing as you can get."

Morris - who will join with Chaz Mostert in the #6 FPR Falcon for the PIRTEK Enduro Cup later this year - has always performed well in Townsville and his deal with United has given him even more purpose this weekend.

"Townsville is a place that I always enjoy racing - there's a great atmosphere at the event - you really get the chance to get the elbows up around the tight street course," said Morris.

"Traditionally, I've done well there. It would be great to follow up last year's race win there with a strong performance in the United Petroleum colours this weekend."

United is Australia's largest independent fuel distributor, employing over 2,000 Australians. It is Australia's only integrated Ethanol fuel producer and marketer.

The Performance Driving Centre will be pumping the E85 United fuel which is used by V8 Supercars and which is now available through the company's national network of service stations.

"This is an extension of our existing position in V8 Supercars as official fuel supplier and is really a perfect opportunity to expand the leverage of our involvement in the sport," said United Petroleum's Head of Marketing, Andrew Luxton.

"Paul is one of the biggest personalities in V8 Supercars and is a proven front runner.

"We're also extremely happy to be on board with the Performance Driving Centre and the V8 Supercars Official Driving Experience as the official fuel supplier.

"The Centre is renowned throughout Australia and around the world - as one of the best driver training facilities and race experiences available.

"This partnership goes hand-in-hand with our core business and we look forward to leveraging our involvement and providing many Australians and international visitors with potentially life saving skills from Advanced Driver Training programs.

"We also look forward to being a part of the V8 Supercars Official Driving Experience and seeing so many people enjoy a terrific program which is both educational and a lot of fun.

"On top of that we believe Paul will be a great ambassador for United Petroleum and continue to be extremely competitive on track for the remainder of the season."

The Castrol Townsville 500 Driven by TAFE Queensland will take place at Reid Park, Townsville, this weekend July 4-6. The second race of the Dunlop V8 Supercar Series will be broadcast live throughout the Seven Network Television coverage.
