Super2 points leader scores GT World Challenge Europe debut

Rising Super2 talent Matt Payne will contest Round 4 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe.

Payne, who is leading the Dunlop Super2 series, will race the Circuit Paul Ricard 1000km with Earl Bamber Motorsport.

The Grove Motorsport junior will race a Porsche 911 GT3 R under the Singha Racing Team TP12 banner across June 3-5.

It comes after two weeks after the New Zealand teen competed in Round 2 of the European Le Mans Series in Imola.

MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi will join the Circuit Paul Ricard event this weekend, steering an Audi R8 LMS with Team WRT.

Payne has been confirmed alongside David Reynolds in the #26 Penrite Racing Mustang for October’s Great Race.

He claimed his first Super2 race win in Perth last month, scoring overall weekend honours at Wanneroo Raceway.

Payne will carry his Super2 points lead to Townsville in July.
