Jayden Ojeda was pleased with another "consistent" weekend in Townsville as he maintained his strong placing in the Dunlop Super2 Series.

Ojeda scored a second straight round podium with finishes of second and third at the WD-40 Townsville SuperSprint.

The MW Motorsport driver was initially classified as the Saturday winner following a race-long battle with series leader Broc Feeney.

Feeney later regained the lead before a multi-car pile-up saw the race red-flagged and called early.

Ojeda was declared the winner, before Feeney was reclassified as the official Race 1 winner.

On Sunday, Ojeda qualified third and again made a great start to slide into second on the opening lap.

However, he dropped behind eventual winner Zak Best and Feeney and crossed the line third.

"My weekend went well,” he said.

"It was very, very consistent and the same exact results as last weekend – a second and a third.

"Overall, it was a great job by the MW Motorsport crew, they were flawless across the two weekends despite being away from home, flying in and out, as well as crossing borders.

"It’s been tough so a massive credit to them and I can’t thank them enough.”

Ojeda earned praise from team owner Matt White, who was pleased with his young driver’s tenacity.

"A big weekend for us back-to-back at Townsville for MW Motorsport in Super2,” White said.

"Some mixed results, and it was really pleasing to see Jayden Ojeda up there again and having a real crack.

"He made some good moves and attacked well."
