The 24-year-old became the fifth different driver to score a Super2 pole this season.

The Darwin-born driver shot to the top with just over two minutes remaining.

Maxwell will share the front row with the returning Dean Fiore.

Fiore is making a Super2 cameo with MW Motorsport in preparation for October’s Great Race.

Several drivers ran off in the greasy conditions, none more impacted than Zak Best.

Cameron Hill was third ahead of Matt Payne, who jumped up with a late flyer.

Payne was stripped of Saturday’s pole due to setting a fastest sector in yellow conditions.

Matt Chahda continued his impressive campaign with fifth ahead of points leader Declan Fraser.

Fraser won Saturday’s race from seventh on the grid, where Jack Perkins will start.

Perkins is also making a Super2 cameo as he readies for a Bathurst start with Erebus Motorsport.

Jaylyn Robotham was another driver to strike drama en route to ninth ahead of Jay Hanson.

Aaron Seton was 11th ahead of Tyler Everingham, who crossed the line first on Saturday.

Everingham was penalised for an incident with a Super3 driver at Turn 4.

Kai Allen continued his strong season with a seventh straight Super3 pole position.

The 22-lap Race 2 will start at 3:00pm local time.
