Le Brocq takes control

Jack Le Brocq has taken out Race One at the Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 today, leaving his teammate rival Garry Jacobson trailing 5.4sec behind him.

Jacobson managed second in the 21-lap race, which delegates him to second in the standings after the two entered Townsville dead even in the pointscore. 

Le Brocq continued to widen the gap as the race progressed, settling comfortably in first position with a 1min.15.5sec best lap time.

Le Brocq is now controlling the Dunlop Series points score by 12 points ahead of Jacobson.

Jacobson couldn’t quite match his teammates pace pace up with Le Brocq this afternoon, finished s convincing second ahead of Hazelwood by a significant 4.9secs.

Andrew Jones and Paul Dumbrell collided at turn 11, leaving Dumbrell turned into a tyre wall.

Anton de Pasquale collected Dumbrell’s stricken car triggering a safety car on-track on lap three.

The incident was investigated however it was resolved with a no breach from  Jones.

The Dunlop Series will be back on-track at the Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 at 9:35am tomorrow.
