Swedish race driver Fredrik Lestrup has accepted a late call-up to co-drive in the Dunlop Series' Wilson MedicOne Enduro alongside Aaron Tebb.

The experienced touring car and GT driver - who competed in the series' first four rounds with the team this season - will contest in his first assault of Mount Panorama in the #98 Commodore.

With the rules stating that drivers must qualify within 107% of the quickest time to line up on the grid for the Enduro - and with only Tebb steering the Voight Contracting entry in yesterday's practice session - team manager Colin Shepherd said Lestrup will take the reigns of the Holden in the upcoming practice session to catch up on seat time heading into qualifying.

"We've only had the one driver in the first practice, so Fredrik will be doing most of this session to try and get up in the times," he told v8supercars.com.au.

"I think [Lestrup] was basically in the country at the time. It was only very late notice for myself, I think just through his association with Aaron Tebb they got together and worked out some sort of deal where they could drive together and it suited them both.

"I'm reasonably confident that they'll get through it and be okay. We'll just keep our fingers crossed."

In yesterday's practice, Tebb's Commodore was bogged in the sand trap at the Chase, causing the session to be red flagged.

Despite the hiccup, Tebb said he's confident in the Enduro pairing and is looking forward to the 250 kilometre haul alongside his former R-Sport teammate.

"I had a bit of an issue yesterday which was my own fault but we should be able to qualify within 107% quite easily, the main thing is we've just got to give Fredrik some laps, he hasn't been here before," he said.

"I'm pretty confident. He's probably one of the better ones to put in the car, he knows the car so that gives us an advantage.

"If we can be in the top 20 I'd be pretty happy, but with the limited track time we've had it might be pushing it, but we should be able to get around there."

Make sure you're trackside to see Lestrup's rookie assault of the mountain in the Wilson MedicOne Enduro.
