After recently announcing his withdrawal from Nandi Kiss Racing asdriver, Sydney’s Nandi Kiss has surprisingly agreed to return to the wheel forthe second round of the Dunlop Series at Barbagallo Raceway late next month.

“We’ve come to a mutual agreement with Chris Alajajian to release fromhis arrangement with NKR effective from today,” explains Kiss, “there are nohard feelings but Chris has made the decision not to continue beyond his firstround with us at The Clipsal 500.”

Alajajian had a challenging return to competition in Adelaide after atwo-year hiatus but Kiss was pleased with the improvement the young Sydneysiderhad made over the course of the weekend.

“Personally I’d love Chris to have gone on to Barbagallo and feel his way intothe car again,” says Nandi, “he was definitely coming to grips with the car andthe way our team works. I think he would have been right where he and we neededhim by the end of Round Two.”

So for now, Kiss will return to the driving duties unless a replacement driveris found.

“It’s definitely my plan to get back in the seat if we don’t find areplacement driver by Perth,” Nandi explains, “The show must go on. At thisstage we haven’t spoken to any drivers about taking the wheel so for the momentI’m re-shuffling my business commitments so that I can give the driving theattention it requires. These cars take a strong commitment to fitness and yourmental approach needs to be spot on. I’ve always enjoyed driving these cars, but I think my longer-term future in the category is as a car owner. We’ll seeI guess.”

Kiss believes there are a couple of key points that will work in hisfavour.

“At least I’ve done all the tracks on this year’s calendar so Ihave a benchmark to work beyond and with the Kelly Holden engine we put in thecar this year that has 40 more horsepower than our old engine program I’mlooking forward to better personal results than last year.”

More information in the lead up to Barbagallo Raceway for Round Two of the 2013Dunlop Series for Nandi Kiss Racing will follow in weeks ahead.
