Prodrive's Garry Jacobson has scored his first ARMOR ALL Pole Position of the 2017 Dunlop Super2 Series at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The 25-year-old went to the top of the timesheets in a qualifying record time of 1.31.4230s with just two minutes remaining in the session.
The Shepparton native will line up on the front of the grid for this afternoon's race alongside veteran Paul Dumbrell.
Dumbrell qualified just 0.2179seconds behind the defending series winner aboard his Eggleston Motorsport Holden.
Team-mate Will Brown kept consistently at the top in this afternoons qualifying and will start on second row with Richie Stanaway.
Paul Morris Motorsports' Anton De Pasquale and Matt White Motorsport's Jack Le Brocq will start Race 1 from the third row.
Jack Perkins meanwhile has withdrawn from the weekend following engines problems in practice.
The Dunlop Super2 Series first race at the Red Rooster Sydney SuperSprint will commence at 2:45pm.
