Brad Jones Racing rookie Josh Fife will sport a predominantly blue livery during his debut
Dunlop Super2 Series season, beginning in Adelaide next week.
The 19-year-old has stepped into Jack Smith’s shoes in the team’s Super2 program after coming home strong to finish fifth in last year’s Super3 championship.
Smith has progressed through the same path to be in the 2020 main game field.
Fife will race with backing from two companies from his native Canberra; Natural Gas and Water, and Fenway Public House.
The former karter is one of five Super2 rookies confirmed to compete for the $100,000 prize that comes with being the highest ranked first-year driver in the 2020 championship; the money to go towards returning next season.
Fife will go head-to-head with Broc Feeney, Angelo Mouzouris, Zak Best and Zane Morse in the unofficial rookie class.
“I am really excited to step up to Super2 with Brad Jones Racing in 2020,” said Fife.
“I’m thankful for this opportunity and the new challenges it will bring. It’s a big step up from Super3, and I’m really looking forward to getting to race on street circuits.
“The field is full of very talented drivers so it will be a great chance for me to increase my skill level.
“I can’t thank Brad and Kim [Jones, team owners] and my sponsors enough for the opportunity and I can’t wait to kick off the season.”
Brad Jones added he is pumped to see how Fife handles himself in the ultra-competitive second-tier class.
“We finished the year off with his first win in Super3 and I feel like he’s going to be in a good position to fight for the rookie of the year championship and I can’t wait for the season to start,” he said.
Following the Superloop Adelaide 500 across February 20-23, Super2 will hold rounds at Symmons Plains, Townsville, Sydney Motorsport Park, Bathurst and Sandown.
