One of Dumbrell’s Eggleston Motorsport rookie team-mates, Will Brown was Hazelwood’s closest challenger, finishing just 0.0578 adrift.

Practice 1 pacesetter Jack Le Brocq took third, while Richard Muscat was fifth for Garry Rogers Motorsport - despite making light contact with the tyres at Turn 11 - and Macauley Jones sixth for Brad Jones Racing.

Anton de Pasquale, Shae Davies, Nathan Morcom and Jack Perkins completed the top 10, ahead of 2016 champion Garry Jacobson.

The session was red-flagged early when Bryce Fullwood’s Nissan stopped on track, the MW Motorsport driver limited to three laps and 19th place.

The Dunlop Super2 Series will be back on-track tomorrow for qualifying at 10:30am AEDT.
