MW Motorsport driver Bryce Fullwood has claimed ARMOR ALL Pole Position for Saturday's Dunlop Super2 Series 250km race at Bathurst.

The series leader recorded a 2:07.0480s early in the 30-minute session, before conditions turned and rain began to hit Mount Panorama.

It marks a first pole for the Nissan driver this season, who has five race wins to his name and will partner Kelly Racing's Andre Heimgartner in Sunday's Great Race.

As the 30-minute session got underway, Fullwood took advantage of the dry conditions and set the pace with a 2:07.0408s lap that would not be beaten.

"I'm absolutely stoked and I can't thank the guys from MW Motorsport enough," said Fullwood.

"I've had an extremely fast car here this weakened.

"It's a little bit of a shame that I couldn't really wind her up to see what she was made of, we didn't quite have the best Practice 2 run with our new tyres, we had some dramas.

"No matter the circumstances, I'm still really happy with that."

Eggleston Motorsport's Will Brown had an early spin exiting Turn 1, but managed to keep it off the wall and continued unscathed.

That was before Zane Goddard clobbered the wall in slippery conditions at McPhilliamy Park, limping back to the pits with a damaged Nissan Altima.

From there, Fullwood's time was not threatened, as the entire field chose to return to the pitlane with 10 minutes remaining, effectively ending the session in wet-conditions.

Fullwoods' MWM teammate Tyler Everingham was second, taking a personal best qualifying result with a 2:07.5718, which was 0.5238 seconds adrift.

Matt Stone Racing's Ash Walsh and Brown, who are both on double duties this weekend, will share the second row.

Supercars enduro veteran David Russell will start the race fifth, ahead of Tickford Racing's Thomas Randle, who clouted the wall in Practice 2 earlier in the day.

Triple Eight duo Brenton Grove and Kurt Kostecki will share the fourth row, ahead of Goddard and Garry Rogers Motorsport's Dylan O'Keeffe, who rounded out the top 10.

There will be a 15-minute warm up session at 9:10am Saturday morning, ahead of the 250km mini-enduro later that afternoon.
