A last-gasp Bryce Fullwood flyer set the pace in final practice for the Dunlop Super2 Series at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

The championship leader turned a 2:05.9975s after the chequered flag had flown in the second of two 40-minute practice sessions to back up his Thursday form atop the timesheets.

Fullwood was the only driver into the 2:05s across the two sessions, with his best on Thursday a 2:07.0684s.

Despite winning five races this season, the 21-year-old is still chasing his first ARMOR ALL Pole Position in 2019.

Triple Eight's Kurt Kostecki battled back and forth with Fullwood for top spot and looked to have the session wrapped up, until being pipped at the post.

Halfway through Practice 2, Tickford Racing’s Thomas Randle clouted the left-side wall at The Esses, which detached his left-front wheel from the Skye Sands Ford Falcon.

That brought out the red flags, as officials worked to clear Randle's Ford, the session resuming with nine minutes to go.

Kostecki then lowered his own benchmark from a 2:07.5508s to a 2:06.5828s, before Fullwood edged ahead.

Eggleston Motorsport's Will Brown, who will partner Anton De Pasquale in the Great Race, finished fourth fastest, ahead of rookie Dylan O'Keeffe in fifth.

David Russell was sixth, ahead of Tyler Everingham, Matt Chahda, Ash Walsh and Justin Ruggier, who rounded out the top 10.

Walkinshaw Andretti United co-driver Jack Perkins did not contest the session and has elected to miss the remaining Super2 sessions as he recovers from influenza.

ARMOR ALL Qualifying for Saturday’s 250km mini-enduro takes place at 2:40pm this afternoon.
