Declan Fraser has topped a final Dunlop Series practice session punctuated by three stoppages.

Fraser's 55.544s proved just 0.08s quicker than Triple Eight teammate Cameron Hill, with Thomas Maxwell third.

The session was declared early after Nash Morris beached his Falcon in the Turn 1 sand.

Earlier, the session was stopped after Jason Gomersall suffered a similar incident.

The top 15 runners were covered by a second, with the top 10 covered by 0.5s.

Points leader Zak Best was seventh all told behind Tyler Everingham, Cameron Crick and Aaron Seton.

The two Dunlop Series sessions on Friday combined for four red flags, with Jay Hanson halting the earlier session.

Everingham was quickest after the first flyers before he was unseated by Hill.

Hill improved his own benchmark before Fraser dropped into the 55s with a 55.991s.

Hill went quicker again with consecutive 55.6s, with Fraser later lowering the benchmark to a 0:55.546s.

The off for Morris brought a premature end to the session, locking in Fraser, Hill and Maxwell in the top three.

Angelo Mouzouris, Jaylyn Robotham and Matt McLean rounded out the top 10.

Cars will return to the track on Saturday for ARMOR ALL Qualifying at 2:00pm local time.

The 26-lap Race 1 will commence at 5:20pm local time.
