Erebus Academy and Image Racing have uncovered Reef McCarthy’s primary backing for his Super2 debut.

McCarthy, 18, will make his first Dunlop Super2 starts in Bathurst next weekend.

The teenager will substitute for Jaylyn Robotham, who will make his Great Race debut.

Robotham will race with Matt Chahda in a Matt Chahda Motorsport Commodore wildcard.

McCarthy’s #999 Commodore will carry chief support from Bushwakka Adventure Gear.

Rare Spares is also supporting McCarthy’s Super2 debut.

The auto parts store's branding will feature on the car’s windscreen banner, rear wing, front bumper and rear panels.

Soumah Wines, EC Off-road, 2wo7even Custom Graphics and PACE Images are also backing the car.

“I’m super fortunate that Bushwakka has come out as my first major sponsor in the sport and is giving me an opportunity to grow in the sport,” McCarthy said.

“I’ve had some great results at Bathurst, but also some unlucky ones so I’m really just hoping for a consistent weekend where I can display my pace and hopefully get some good coverage for my sponsors.

“Continuing into next year, we have some big ambitions and I really hope that we can grow these partnerships and continue moving forward together.

“I’m excited to announce that Rare Spares have also jumped on board for my debut round.

“They are such an iconic brand in our sport and I’m proud to be able to represent them.”

Bushwakka Adventure Gear Director Johnny Loots was keen to see the brand represented at the biggest event of the year.

“We are very excited to be part of Reef’s growth and his racing career,” Loots said.

“Seeing our brand race around Bathurst is a dream come true and it’s even better when it’s been steered around by an up and coming legend in Reef.”

McCarthy will test the car, complete in its new livery, at Winton Motor Raceway on Wednesday.

The Bathurst Super2 round will feature dual races worth 150 points each.

Declan Fraser leads Zak Best by 114 points, with Matt Payne a further 36 points behind.
