Defending champion Garry Jacobson is not giving up hope, starting on the second row alongside Kostecki for the first race of the season.

Local driver Todd Hazelwood finished qualifying in fifth place ahead of the second Nissan of Shae Davies.

Brodie Kostecki and Morcom will start on the back row for Race One this afternoon.

The Dunlop Super2 Series will be back on-track this afternoon for Race 1 at 4:25pm local time.
