Tasmanian rising star Lachlan Dalton will make his Dunlop Super2 Series debut at the upcoming VALO Adelaide 500.

The combined 2022 Dunlop Super2 Series and Dunlop Super3 Series season will conclude after five rounds of racing.

The infamous street circuit will be tackled by a strong field of young guns for its final round of 2022 across December 1-4. Tickets are on sale now.

Who will win the Super2 title?

Dalton, a protégé of fellow Tasmanian Marcos Ambrose, will make the jump from the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series to Super2 with Brad Jones Racing.

The teenager will replace BJR rookie Elly Morrow for the Adelaide event.

Morrow, who made her S5000 Series debut on the Gold Coast last month, has elected to take a step back from Super2 duties in Adelaide.

It comes after Dalton finished third overall in his maiden National Trans Am Series season with Garry Rogers Motorsport.

He began his karting career in 2017 and moved up to the Toyota 86 Series four years later, recording six top-ten results in the one-make category.

Dalton will get behind the wheel of a BJR-prepared Holden VF Commodore, with a 31-car combined grid confirmed for the season finale.

“When the opportunity arose recently to jump into the Super2 car for Adelaide, it was one I couldn’t pass up,” he said.

“BJR is a team with so much history and experience. The guys are second to none and the crew has already made me feel really at home going into the event.

“Everyone is really looking forward to Supercars returning to Adelaide and for me to be a part of that atmosphere and be a part of the Dunlop series is exciting."

BJR team owner Brad Jones explained it was the right opportunity for Dalton to step up to Super2.

“It’ll be great for Lochie to have a run in the car and really looking forward to seeing how he performs on the streets of Adelaide.”

The 2022 Repco Supercars Championship and Dunlop Series seasons will conclude at the VALO Adelaide 500.
