The next generation of Supercars stars will contest a six-round Dunlop Series season in 2023.

The Dunlop Super2 and Dunlop Super3 grids will race at three permanent circuits and three street circuits next year.

The 2023 season will commence on the streets of Newcastle in March, and end in Adelaide in November.

The new season will also be contested by new cars.

For the first time, Car of the Future ZB Commodores and Ford Mustangs will compete in Super2.

Teams have raced VF Commodores and FG X Falcons since 2016.

Epic 2023 calendar revealed

A number of teams have already confirmed plans to race in the development series.

Other existing Super2 teams will also take ownership of cars currently racing in the Repco Supercars Championship.

For the second year running, a Dunlop Series season will feature rounds in Perth, Townsville, Sandown, Bathurst and Adelaide.

Super2 last raced on the Newcastle streets in November 2019, the last time the city hosted Supercars.

Two drivers from this year’s current crop of young stars, Matt Payne and Cameron Hill, have already been confirmed as rookies on the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship grid with Grove Racing and Matt Stone Racing respectively.

Payne and Hill are two of five drivers in with a shot of winning this year’s Super2 title.

Tickets for the opening event of 2023, the Thrifty Newcastle 500, are now on sale through Supercars.com and Ticketek.
