David Reynolds expects drivers to resort to "rude" racing tactics in Tasmania in order to create passing opportunities.
The 2022 season will recommence at Symmons Plains next weekend.
Reynolds and Grove Racing teammate Lee Holdsworth visited Tasmania on Wednesday, nine days out from the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint.
The teammates met with Tasmania Sports Minister Nic Street and number of local radio stations to promote next week’s first sprint round of 2022.
Reynolds fought to finishes of 16th, eighth and eighth at Symmons Plains last April.
Speaking to media, Reynolds explained how the idiosyncrasies of the 2.4km circuit bring out aggression from drivers.
"It’s a very difficult track, when you look at it on paper it looks simple,” he said.
"But every corner you go on the track to is very different to each other, so it creates a lot of engineering challenges.
"It also creates great racing and is one of the best tracks we go to.
"You have the long drag strip, creating a slipstream effect, and there’s a lot of passing.
"Symmons Plains has been good to me over the years, I qualify well but seem to get involved in things in the races that I probably shouldn’t get involved into.
"You’ve got to get into the door of someone to get past them, and you’ve got to get rude a bit here and there, which creates a bit of tension on the racetrack.
"We love it, we are racing car drivers, we love racing hard."
Holdsworth will make his first start in Tasmania since 2019, having missed last year’s event.
"It’s good to be back in Tassie, I love Hobart and Launceston,” he said.
"There’s so much to see, we don’t get to see enough of it when we come to race here.

"It’s a great little track Symmons Plains, and an awesome event with great crowds, the Tasmanian people get right behind it.
"The race track itself puts on great entertainment, as it has good passing opportunities, with big, long straights, which always provides a massive challenge.
"Tassie fans are so passionate about motorsport and it being such a huge event at Symmons Plains, it's cool to be involved and see the level of passion.
"I can’t wait to be back and mingle with the crowds again."
Fans will have the opportunity to meet with all the drivers during the event at the all-driver autograph session on Saturday March 26.
Fans can also tour pit lane on Sunday morning during the Pit Lane Fan Experience.
Supercars is also offering fans the chance to win a Symmons Plains hot lap in the new Gen3 prototypes.
The NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint runs at Symmons Plains Raceway on March 26-27. The event is being broadcast exclusively live and ad free on Foxtel and streamed live on Kayo.
The Seven Network will broadcast highlights on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are still available through Ticketek or Supercars.com.
