A Bathurst-themed comedy show, which sold out on its last tour, is set to be a major highlight of the upcoming Bathurst SuperFest.
The Repco Bathurst 12 Hour and Thrifty Bathurst 500 will headline the Bathurst SuperFest, a 10-day festival of motorsport in February.
As part of the SuperFest, the sold-out smash-hit comedy of 2023 — Fast Cars — returns in 2024.
The comedy show — that shares themes with the likes of Schitts Creek, Upper Middle Bogan and The Castle — was written by Kate Smith.
Fast Cars is a fast-paced comedy about the Peter Brock-loving Byrnes family, who live for the Great Race, their home-grown Brocky burgers and making their dreams come true.
Matriarch Barb dreams of cracking her personal best walking ‘round the Mountain, daughter Chez is a mechanic wants to be the King of the Mountain, while the Insta-mad son Ted just dreams.
However, word on the street is business is bad for Barb’s Burgers and Babs, and they need a boost. So who and what can save Barb and her brood from going bankrupt?
Meanwhile slimy Mayor Belle Farquhar is getting smashed in the polls. With the election looming she needs a plan to get back on top, and fast! Farquhar declares that locals can drive in the great V8 race on the mountain and win a big cash prize. Bingo! The Byrnes are in! This is just what they need. Or is it?
