Biante backing for rebuilt Percat Holden

Brad Jones Racing driver Nick Percat will head to the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint with backing from model car company Biante on his rebuilt Holden.

A fortnight after what Percat described as the 'biggest crash of his career', the South Australian will race with his third livery in as many events after previous sponsorship from Clipsal and Holden.

The new looks marks the first time Biante has taken title sponsorship of a car in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, building on a long association with the team.

The Albury-based squad has been working to repair the car that was heavily damaged in a 250km/h crash on Friday at the Australian Grand Prix.

The team hopes to have the car completed by Friday to be on the transporter and driven to Melbourne before it crosses Bass Strait on the Spirit of Tasmania.

With the team also running three cars in the Dunlop Super2 Series, Percat's car could be placed in one the second-tier team's transporters should there be a delay in its rebuild.

"We had some bad luck at the AGP with the brake failure but the team have done an outstanding job getting the car back into shape and the Biante livery looks awesome," said Percat.

Biante is set to release a model of the car, with the company's previously backing Andrew Jones in the 2013 Dunlop Series races at Bathurst.

"We’ve had an association with Biante for over 20 years and it’s fantastic that they are taking up this opportunity to be the naming rights sponsor at Tasmania," said team owner Kim Jones.

"There is a strong model car collectors group in Australia and the drivers, Brad and I get to meet many of them through the Biante Collectors Nights."
