Matt Stone Racing has opted for full-scale repairs over a Practice 6 appearance following Aaron Seton’s crash.

Seton crashed over Skyline midway through the co-driver only Practice 5.

The third-generation driver was caught out as rain lashed Mount Panorama.

Seton was one of several drivers to strike trouble during the session.

Notably, Jamie Whincup - a veteran of 21 Bathurst starts - crashed at Griffin’s Bend.

Kurt Kostecki also had an incident of his own at Griffin’s Bend.

Teams only have a 100-minute turnaround between Practice 5 and Practice 6.

Given neither MSR reached Saturday's Shootout, the team has time to focus on repairing the #34 Commodore.

Team owner Stone said the priority is repairing the car versus rushing it out for Practice 6.

“We decided early on not to push for the next session,” Stone told Supercars.com.

“We want to fix it right and get it right for tomorrow’s race.

“Aaron was feeling confident, and the car was good in the wet.

“Our cars were better this morning versus yesterday.

“There’s a lot of componentry to replace, and we have to set it up right.

“There’s no point rushing it. Tomorrow is the priority."

Seton said he was a “passenger” once he locked the wheel.

“I just locked that left-hand front going over The Esses,” he said on the broadcast.

“Once I locked that I couldn’t get it unlocked and I was a passenger.

“It was completely my fault... so sorry to the boys and Jack.”

The Le Brocq/Seton car will start Sunday’s race from 25th, with Todd Hazelwood - who crashed on Friday - qualifying 19th.

The final practice session of the weekend, Practice 6, will start at 1:00pm local time.

Seton will complete his second Super2 race of the weekend at 4:00pm.

Saturday’s action will conclude with the ARMOR ALL Top Ten Shootout at 5:05pm.
