Kelly Grove Racing super-sub Luke Youlden says he is "proud" of his performances at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Youlden was thrust into the seat of the #26 Penrite Racing Mustang at the 11th hour to replace David Reynolds.

The ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight couldn't have provided more challenges for Youlden, who was making his solo main game debut.

The event featured mixed tyre compound racing and two night races, with Sunday's race help under rainy skies.

Through it all, the 2017 Bathurst winner was more than equal to the task and finished a brilliant 11th in Sunday's night race, which was won by Jamie Whincup.

"It was an awesome experience in the Penrite Racing Mustang," the 43-year-old said.

"I’m proud of what I’ve achieved in my first solo drive.

"I had everything thrown at me today; a slick track, low visibility, night racing and starting at the front of the grid.

I" had an awesome car underneath me and the crew was working tirelessly with out fault for me.

"I’m glad I could repay the faith putting in a reasonable result and bring the car home safe and sound."

Andre Heimgartner pieced together his best round since he won at The Bend Motorsport Park in May.

Heimgartner made a strong start to Race 24 and was up to second early in the race. However, he was undercut by cars behind as he ran long and finished seventh.

Come the night race, and Heimgartner avoided the chaos to finish 10th, one position ahead of his veteran teammate.

"A good day overall, great qualifying and exciting racing," the Kiwi said.

"We didn’t nail the strategy or tyre pressures which left us in some tricky positions.

"The car itself felt the fastest it’s ever been, even in the wet.

"I am looking forward to doing it all over again next weekend and hopefully getting some more great results."

The 2021 season will resume this weekend at the BP Ultimate ALL Sydney SuperSprint.

Every session will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo. The Seven Network will showcase highlights of the event.
