Will Davison and Anton De Pasquale are the "perfect fit" for the Shell V-Power Racing Team, says Ryan Story.

The team announced Wednesday that De Pasquale and Davison have signed on for 2023.

The Ford squad heads into next season with an unchanged driver line-up.

Both drivers have extensively tested the Gen3 Ford Mustang, which will debut next year.

Wednesday’s news means the team will have stability into the first season of Gen3.

Davison, who turns 40 later this month, will be one of few drivers to have raced a low-downforce Supercar.

The two-time Bathurst winner, who is adamant he is yet to hit his peak, will undoubtedly be an asset come Gen3.

However, according to DJR Executive Chairman Story, the off-track value of both drivers was unquestionable.

"We are delighted to announce that Will and Anton will continue driving with the Shell V-Power Racing Team in 2023," Story said.

"Both drivers have been invaluable additions to our team.

"They have been the perfect fit with not only all our staff, but also with our partners, and are loved by all our loyal and passionate supporters.

"Their on-track results have proved that, and they are a fantastic pairing for our team."

De Pasquale and Davison have stepped up this season, both drivers having won races.

Heading to Sandown, De Pasquale and Davison are third and fourth in the points.

Critically, they have forced Shell V-Power Racing Team into the discussion for the teams’ championship.

The team heads to Sandown just 121 points behind arch-rivals Red Bull Ampol Racing.

De Pasquale has left behind his poor reliability of 2021 to remain a constant fixture at the front.

Davison, meanwhile, has been ‘Mr Consistent’ and made himself impossible to let go.

The 39-year-old snapped a six-year winless drought in Perth in May, with De Pasquale winning in Darwin.
