Whincup Sets Fastest Lap

Jamie Whincup has done it again, quickestin Qualifying for Race 15 and 16. But it was the second qualifying sessionthat saw Whincup post the fastest time for the weekend with a 1min31.9948 – theone and only lap in the 31s.

It’s the same top three as yesterday’sfinish for the day’s first race with Craig Lowndes and Fabian Coulthard thenext two on the grid.

Following are the Ford of Mark Winterbottomand remarkably the Nissan of Rick Kelly.

And he wasn’t the only Kelly to post aseason best Qualifying result – Todd finished ninth.

From sixth it’s Jonathon Webb, Shane VanGisbergen, Jason Bright, Todd Kelly and Garth Tander.

The second back to back Qualifying sessionwas once again topped by Whincup, but he wasn’t followed by his teammate.

There were plenty of flying laps in thelast few minutes – next best this time was Coulthard, followed by Tander,Bright, Rick Kelly, David Wall, Webb, Van Gisbergen and Winterbottom.

Lowndes will start from 12th.

Will Davison, running second in the Championship,will start from positions 11 and 14 today.
