The Repco Supercars Championship returns to Victoria with this weekend’s second round of the 2021 season – the Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint.
The event marks the first Victorian visit in 2021, with Winton Motor Raceway scheduled to host the fifth round of the Championship in late May.
With just three days until the cars hit the track for Practice 1 at Sandown, Supercars.com has listed some answers to key questions ahead of the event.
The Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint will be a two-day event held across March 20-21.
The race weekend will feature three 36-lap races, one on Saturday and two on Sunday.
In great news for all fans, and in compliance with Victorian government restrictions, up to 7000 patrons may attend on each day of the event.
Otherwise, the event will be broadcast in full on Foxtel and will be streamed on Kayo, with the Seven Network airing highlights packages on both days. Check out the full TV schedule here.
There will be a bumper support line-up, headlined by the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup, the VHT S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship and Heritage Revival categories. The full weekend schedule can be viewed here.
The Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint will be staged in accordance with all applicable government regulations, including those responding to COVID-19, as well as a detailed COVIDSafe Event Plan prepared by Supercars and approved by government, and we can provide the following information for fans to assist with their preparation for the event.
The venue will be divided into four zones: a Grandstand zone, 2 Park & View zones and a Pit Paddock zone. Each of the zones has specified capacity limits which is why patrons will only be able to access the specific zones for which they hold a ticket.
When attending the event, please ensure you check into your zone using the QR code at the gate. All patrons must use the designated entry and exit points for their zone.
Patrons in the Grandstand and Park & View Zones must remain seated at all times, unless visiting food and beverage outlets or other amenities.
There will be food and beverage outlets in each of the zones as well as full amenities.
There will also be a selection of merchandise stalls in the Grandstand Zone.
Please be courteous when queuing for entry/exit, for food and beverages or for merchandise purchases and always keep 1.5 metres from other patrons.
Do not bring cash; this is a cashless event.
Please use the sanitiser stations available to you at key entry and exit points.
Patrons will be reminded during the day with signage, Big Screen messages and by roaming officials to comply with all COVID-19 precautions.
Otherwise, as with all events, patrons must not attend if feeling unwell or if they have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.
Patrons must carry a face mask at all times when you leave home, unless you have a lawful reason not to.
Interstate patrons must apply for a travel permit before entering Victoria.
