What to expect at the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight

The Repco Supercars Championship returns to Sydney Motorsport Park for this weekend’s eighth round of the 2021 season – the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.

The event marks the first visit to the Western Sydney circuit this season and the first of four back-to-back weekends of racing.

With four days until the cars hit the track for Practice 1 on Friday, Supercars.com has listed some answers to key questions ahead of the event.

The Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight will be a three-day event held across October 29-31.

The race weekend will feature three 32-lap races, one on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Two of the races will be held under lights, marking the first night racing since 2020.

Supercars are back in Sydney

Drivers will be competing for the Beaurepaires Sydney Cup, which will be awarded to the driver who accumulates the most points over the four Repco Supercars Championship rounds being held at the Eastern Creek circuit across October and November.

The Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight will be staged in accordance with all applicable Government regulations, including those responding to COVID-19, as well as a detailed COVIDSafe Event Plan prepared by Sydney Motorsport Park and approved by the NSW Government.

In great news for all fans, and in compliance with New South Wales government restrictions, there will be up to 10,000 attendees each day of the event.

The Supercars paddock will not be open to fans, however, the Support Category Paddock will be accessible with a Trackside ticket. Pit roof access is free with Trackside admission. 

Corporate experience guests will be able to park inside the venue, with vehicle access via Gate AA. Corporate suites are a short walk through the tunnel with access via the stairwells of the pit building.

When attending the event, please ensure you check-in via the Service NSW App and use the QR code at the gate. All patrons are required to present their proof of double vaccination OR thier NSW Health-certified medical dispensation before entering SMSP.

Event organisers encourage attendees to stay COVID Safe by washing their hands as often as possible, keeping a safe distance from others and checking in using the NSW Service App. To download the app, click here.

Face masks will be mandatory indoors as per current health regulations or if you can't maintain social distancing regulations.

The support line-up will feature the Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series, V8 SuperUtes, NSW Supersports and NSW Sports Sedans.

On-track sessions will commence at 1:55pm AEDT on Friday October 29, when popular local category the NSW Supersports begin practice.

Supercars will hit the Eastern Creek circuit for the first time in 2021 with a 30-minute practice session at 4:05pm AEDT on Friday. Check out the full weekend schedule here.

Merchandise stalls will be open, located behind the Grandstands. 

Public food and bar outlets will be operating, with locations behind the grandstand, and beer garden located between the Grandstand and Turn 1, as well as on the pit roof and the Paddock Café (just outside of the Paddock).

The event will be broadcast in full on Foxtel and will be streamed on Kayo. The Seven Network will broadcast live from 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday and 12:30pm AEDT on Sunday.Check out the full TV schedule here.

Children aged 15 and under are free to enter the venue in general admission areas, however they must be always accompanied by their ticket-holding parent or guardian. Children require tickets for hospitality and grandstand areas.

Access to the event is through Gate A and Gate C for pedestrians.

Gates open at 1:00pm AEDT for viewing of practice sessions by Supercars, Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series, V8 SuperUtes, NSW Supersports and NSW Sports Sedans on Friday.

Gates open at 12:30pm AEDT on Saturday and 9:30am AEDT on Sunday.

Sydney Motorsport Park is located approximately 40km west of Sydney’s CBD on Brabham Drive/ Ferrers Road at Eastern Creek.

There is free public parking located at Raging Waters Water Park, which includes a free shuttle to the track. There will be a free shuttle service running from Blacktown Station. Masks must be worn when travelling on the shuttle bus. 

Fans are welcome to bring pre-packaged food such as sandwiches, fruit, biscuits, crisps, etc, and non-alcoholic beverages that are in non-shatter containers – ie no glass bottles. No BYO alcohol allowed.

We encourage fans to bring their chairs and picnic blankets into the General Admission areas but must adhere to applicable social distancing requirements when placing chairs on viewing mounds.

There is limited shade, so umbrellas are recommended. Sydney Motorsport Park does not allow spectators to bring tents, canopies, or any form of scaffolding.

Please be courteous when queuing for entry/exit, for food and beverages, or for merchandise purchases, and always keep 1.5 metres from other patrons.

Please use the sanitiser stations available to you at key entry and exit points.

Otherwise, as with all events, patrons must not attend if feeling unwell or if they have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will continue at next weekend’s Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight. Tickets for all four upcoming Sydney events are on sale now.

All sessions will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and streamed via Kayo. The Seven Network will broadcast live from 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday and 12:30pm AEDT on Sunday.
