The 2022 Repco Supercars Championship will roar back into life under lights at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight will open the 2022 season this weekend.

The March 4-6 event will be the first season opener held under lights since Abu Dhabi in 2011. 

Across Saturday and Sunday, the Supercars action will be headlined by dual 300km races, the first of which will be run under lights.

With three days until cars hit the track for Practice 1, Supercars.com has listed some answers to key questions ahead of the event.

Supercars set to shine bright under lights

The Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight will be a three-day event held across March 4-6.

The race weekend will feature two 300km Supercars races, one on Saturday and one Sunday.

Saturday’s race will be held under lights.

The Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight will be staged in accordance with all applicable Government regulations, including those responding to COVID-19, as well as a detailed COVIDSafe Event Plan prepared by Sydney Motorsport Park and approved by the NSW Government.

In great news for fans, the Supercars paddock will be open to fans for all three days of the event.

Corporate experience guests will be able to park inside the venue, with vehicle access via Gate AA. Corporate suites are a short walk through the tunnel with access via the stairwells of the pit building. 

Event organisers encourage attendees to stay COVID Safe by washing their hands as often as possible, and keeping a safe distance from others.

Hot Dub Time Machine set to headline SMSP

The support line-up will feature the Dunlop Super2 Series, Aussie Ring Cars, Touring Car Masters and GAZOO Toyota 86 Series.

On-track sessions will commence at 11:55am AEDT on Friday March 4, when popular national category, Aussie Racing Cars, begin practice.

Supercars will hit the Eastern Creek circuit for the first of two 40-minute practice sessions at 3:15pm AEDT on Friday. Check out the full weekend schedule here.

Merchandise stalls will be open, located behind the grandstand. 

Public food and bar outlets will be operating, with locations behind the grandstand, and beer garden located between the grandstand and Turn 1, as well as on the pit roof and the Paddock Café (just outside of the Paddock).

Pit Lane Walks and paddock access will return for all three days of the event.

A Saturday night party with Hot Dub Time Machine will be the first of its kind, a concert in a newly created party zone after Supercars’ season-opening race.

All ticket-holders will gain access to the Saturday night party following Race 1.

Children aged 12 and under are free to enter the venue in general admission areas; however, they must be always accompanied by their ticket-holding parent or guardian. Children require tickets for hospitality and grandstand areas.

Families attending the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight will be the first of 2022 to experience the SuperKids Zone.

The SuperKids Zone will be located behind the grandstand directly opposite pit lane.

Access to the event is through Gate A and Gate C for pedestrians. 

Gates open at 11:00am AEDT for viewing of practice sessions by Supercars, NSW Production Touring Cars and Formula Ford on Friday.

Gates open at 11:15am AEDT on Saturday and 7.30am AEDT on Sunday.

Sydney Motorsport Park is located approximately 40km west of Sydney’s CBD on Brabham Drive/Ferrers Road at Eastern Creek.

There is free parking available at the Sydney Dragway for all Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight ticket-holders. 

If you are a General Admission ticket holder, you can upgrade your experience with Park and View access.

Park your car trackside and spend the weekend watching the race action from the comfort of your car. 

Fans are welcome to bring pre-packaged food such as sandwiches, fruit, biscuits, crisps, etc. and non-alcoholic beverages that are in non-shatter containers – i.e. no glass bottles. No BYO alcohol allowed.

We encourage fans to bring their chairs and picnic blankets into the General Admission areas but must adhere to applicable social distancing requirements when placing chairs on viewing mounds.

There is limited shade, so umbrellas are recommended. Sydney Motorsport Park does not allow spectators to bring tents, canopies, or any form of scaffolding.

Please be courteous when queuing for entry/exit, for food and beverages, or for merchandise purchases, and always keep 1.5 metres from other patrons.

Please use the sanitiser stations available to you at key entry and exit points.

Otherwise, as with all events, patrons must not attend if feeling unwell or if they have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.

Every session of event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo across March 4-6. Check out the full TV schedule here.

The Seven broadcast will kick off at 4.30pm AEDT on Saturday and 12.00pm AEDT on Sunday.
