Shell V-Power Racing Team "missed the boat" in the rain-affected Race 30 qualifying, says Will Davison.

Davison and Anton De Pasquale both failed to reach Sunday's ARMOR ALL Top Ten Shootout.

Andre Heimgartner topped the 15-minute session, which was held under rainy skies at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.

Davison missed out on the shootout by just 0.09s and qualified 11th, and it got no better for De Pasquale.

De Pasquale, the Saturday pole-sitter, qualified 17th and fell short of a shootout berth by more than half a second.

"I forgot there was even a shootout, so there you go," said Davison, who was classified ninth in Saturday's race.

De Pasquale, Davison troubled by wet conditions

"I was too busy reminiscing on that session, but the wet is a big curveball on tyre pressure, but we missed the boat.

"There’s a lot of standing water and a lot of rivers, but otherwise the track has good grip, where’s there’s not rivers, there is good grip.

"But there’s a lot more standing water than last weekend.

"It’s a bit of a shame as we qualified well in the wet last time, the car is actually good in the wet; we just missed the boat when it was at its driest at the start of the session.

"We tried to come in a compensate but it got a lot wetter at the end, so we went quicker but it was a lot wetter."

De Pasquale enters Sunday as one of three drivers in the running for the Beaurepaires Sydney Cup.

"It’s pretty wet, and I didn’t get a great run," De Pasquale said.

"I didn’t have much pace, I changed tyres, then it came good, but I made an error on that last lap.

"We are where we are, but we have a long race, so we will go from there.

"It’s a lot wetter, obviously the times are a lot slower.

"The car is not as good as that day, so we will take a look at it all and go from there."

Cars will return for the ARMOR ALL Top Ten Shootout at 12:30pm AEDT. Click here to view the race schedule.
