It’s finally here. The biggest race of the year will unfold across four action-packed days, culminating in 1000km of non-stop racing on Sunday at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

It’s the race everyone wants to win – and 29 new generation V8 Supercars will be in with a shot, battling for victory and giving it all they can to get home.

A win won’t just etch the winners’ names in history, but will put driver pairings one step closer to the inaugural PIRTEK Enduro Cup and reel in a huge haul of points towards the Championship.

This year, new to 2013 manufacturers Nissan and Mercedes-Benz will be back at Mount Panorama; Nissan last won a race with the infamous ‘Godzilla’ in 1992, while a Benz's most recent appearance on the Mountain was 1994.

Six-time winner Mark Skaife tipped Craig Lowndes as the hot favourite for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. But it was his teammate Jamie Whincup who, with Paul Dumbrell, snared the first enduro, the Wilson Security Sandown 500 last month.

Three-hundred points are on offer this weekend and less than that separates the top six drivers in the standings.

Who will take home the Peter Brock trophy? Who’s co-driver will be the most valuable at Mount Panorama? And who will lead the Championship into the concrete-lined ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600?

Don’t miss a minute of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 – V8 Supercars has you covered.

Watch it LIVE

Even V8 Supercars veterans Dick Johnson and Garry Rogers speak about the feeling when driving into the circuit, seeing the Mount Panorama sign and visiting the spiritual home of motorsport in this country.

Tickets are still available for the four-day event, both general admission and grandstand.

Paddock passes are available across the weekend and there are plenty of interactive activities such as autograph sessions, the Disney-Pixar Fun Zone and a range of support categories to keep you entertained.

Several co-drivers are competing across two series, with the Dunlop Series and Porsche Carrera Cup both fielding a number of drivers who will steer V8 Supercars in the 1000. Those Championships are heating up, and a bag of points at the Mountain will prove valuable for both, each holding the penultimate round at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

The V8 Utes return, along with Touring Car Masters, and Team Bray Racing will showcase its new 1963 Corvette burnout and drift car at the event, with daily displays.
