Fresh insight has been provided into a Walkinshaw Andretti United Ford Mustang Supercar.

Earlier this month, WAU confirmed a blockbuster switch to Ford for 2023.

The long-time Holden squad will race Mustangs when the Gen3 era commences next year.

SSMEDIA’s Scott Yorston designed renders of a WAU Gen3-specification Mustang, complete with 2022 livery.

Yorston supplies renders to Supercars for broadcast and digital purposes.

The decorated graphic designer posted the renders to his SSMEDIA account.

The renders give fans fresh insight into the future of WAU, which began life as the factory Holden team.

A number of teams have released Gen3-spec renders to signal their allegiance to a brand.

Most recently, Matt Stone Racing released Gen3-spec Camaro renders of its 2022 livery.

The likes of Erebus Motorsport, Brad Jones Racing, Grove Racing and Team 18 have also released renders.

WAU’s shift to Ford made waves, considering the team’s history with General Motors.

The Clayton squad operated as the Holden Racing Team between 1990 and 2016.

Holden factory support shifted to Triple Eight in 2017; Michael Andretti and Zak Brown joined at the end of 2017.

The move to Ford reunites star driver Chaz Mostert with the Blue Oval.

Mostert raced Fords in the main game between 2013 and 2019 before he moved to WAU.

Conversely, Nick Percat has never raced a Ford in either Supercars or Super2.

WAU is currently sixth in the teams' standings heading to Winton.

The 2022 season will resume at Winton this weekend. Purchase your tickets now.
