Another long stint has helped Shane van Gisbergen score victory at the OTR SuperSprint.

Van Gisbergen scored his 13th victory of the season in Race 22, having run long.

The championship leader led home Chaz Mostert, who bolted from sixth on the grid.

James Courtney completed the podium ahead of pole-sitter Cam Waters, with Anton De Pasquale fifth.

The race ran time certain after a major start-line incident between Thomas Randle and Andre Heimgartner.

Randle, who started a career-best second, stalled and was hit by Heimgartner.

Both drivers alighted from their cars, but the race was immediately red-flagged.

Nick Percat was also implicated, having been hit by the errant Randle.

“Shame to see that crash at the start, glad those guys are okay,” van Gisbergen said.

“Restart, I didn’t get a good start again, we had an awesome race back through.

“I couldn’t believe it when those guys pitted and got clear air and just pushed off.

“We were planning to do the undercut then, but they did it and we got clear air."

The race suspended for 30 minutes following the initial start-line incident.

Mostert made a supreme start from sixth, and rounded up the leaders into Turn 1.

Waters, meanwhile, had plummeted to fifth through Turn 6.

Mostert tried to open a gap on Courtney, with De Pasquale and van Gisbergen fighting over third.

A racy van Gisbergen cleared De Pasquale at Turn 13 on lap 4, and set off after Mostert.

Courtney, De Pasquale and Will Brown led a gaggle of cars into the lane on lap 5.

Mostert and Broc Feeney stopped on the following lap, and retained track position over Courtney.

Van Gisbergen and Waters carried on, van Gisbergen opening up a 1.8s lead.

That margin was 2.3s once Waters stopped on lap 11; Mostert and Courtney emerged ahead.

Brodie Kostecki, who loomed to score a top 10, was penalised due to a pit stop infringement.

Kostecki pulled away, but the rattle gun was still attached to the left rear.

The Erebus driver suffered a front left puncture and was classified 24th and last of the runners.

Van Gisbergen, the last car to pit, carried on and stopped at the end of lap 16.

On cold tyres, van Gisbergen emerged with a 0.9s lead, but Mostert kept a watching brief.

Van Gisbergen, as he did on Saturday, set the fastest lap on the final lap and scored a maximum 105 points.

The winning margin was 2.5s, with Courtney 0.9s behind in third.

Feeney, Brown, David Reynolds, Mark Winterbottom and Bryce Fullwood rounded out the top 10.

Scott Pye finished his 300th race in 20th position.

Van Gisbergen will carry an extended 354-point lead into Race 23 over De Pasquale.

A Commodore victory will help Holden clinch the Champion Manufacturer award in the brand's final season.

The OTR SuperSprint will conclude with Race 23 at 3:40pm local time.
