Shane van Gisbergen is hoping to send Holden out "in a good way" after carrying the Commodore to title success.

Van Gisbergen’s OTR SuperSprint clean sweep sealed the 2022 Champion Manufacturer title for Holden.

Holden has an unassailable lead with 11 races remaining, having won 18 races to Ford’s five.

Van Gisbergen has done the lion’s share of the winning for Holden, having won 14 times this season.

Chaz Mostert has won four races for Walkinshaw Andretti United.

"It was also great to claim the manufacturers title this weekend for Holden and GM," van Gisbergen said.

"The brand still means a lot to a lot of people so it’s really cool to represent them.

"We have some big races coming up including Bathurst, Pukekohe and Adelaide where it will be Holden’s last showing.

"Hopefully we can send the Holden badge out in a good way."

Van Gisbergen has won 66 of his 68 career races in Commodores.

The points leader holds a special place in Holden history, having claimed the 450th, 500th, 550th and 600th wins for the brand.

Van Gisbergen’s Race 10 win in Perth in April was Holden’s 600th ATCC/Supercars win.

The driver himself is within striking distance of Scott McLaughlin’s season wins record.

McLaughlin won a record 18 races in 2019; van Gisbergen needs five more wins in the remaining 11 races to surpass his countryman’s marker.

Van Gisbergen will look to extend his 393-point series lead at Sandown, where he won three from three last March.

The 2022 season will resume at Sandown on August 19-21. Purchase your tickets now.
