Shane van Gisbergen is keeping himself busy during the break in the Repco Supercars Championship, spending time aboard a dirt bike at Willowbank Motocross Park.
The current champion was joined by fellow Supercars driver Scott Pye and Triple Eight Race Engineering co-owner Jess Dane for a session on Tuesday.
The 40-hectare purpose-built facility features natural terrain circuits, various motocross tracks and training areas.
The Red Bull Ampol Racing driver who suffered a broken collarbone while mountain biking last March, said he planned to return to dirt biking once back to full fitness.
Displaying his skills aboard a KTM motocross bike last month, van Gisbergen posted a light-hearted video to his social accounts on December 30.
Dane shared her elation following the session at Ipswich on Tuesday, joined by Erebus Motorsport Managing Director Shannen Kiely.
It marks another milestone in Dane’s two-wheeled adventures, following her enjoying a hot lap aboard a Superbike at Hidden Valley Raceway in June.
Dane also took her first drive on a Ducati Monster road bike in October.
Shane van Gisbergen will be joined by rookie Broc Feeney in 2022, the teenager stepping up from the Dunlop Super2 Series to replace Jamie Whincup.
The 13-event 2022 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle in March. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
