Tyre test next week

V8 Supercars and Dunlop will conduct a tyre test next week to trial three different compounds ahead of 2016.

A much discussed 'super soft' option will be one of the compounds thatwill be tested with Jamie Whincup behind the wheel of a Red Bull Racing Australia Holden Commodore.

The team will be led by David Stuart and the V8 Supercars technical team, as well as the sport's official tyre supplier Dunlop.

Stuart confirmed the test to v8supercars.com.au last month and explained that various evaluation methods would be completed on each compound, with speed and degradation of the tyres to be assessed.

"V8 Supercars will assess the performance of the tyres and report back to the Commission," Stuart explained.

The outcome of the test will be revealed in due course.

Next year's formats and tyre allocations are currently being discussed, with the 2016 events calendar due to be released in Septemberas usual.
