Both nights of the second Sydney SuperNight will feature floodlit Supercars races.

The Repco Supercars Championship will, for the first time, hold dual night races in the same event at Sydney Motorsport Park.

It will mark just the fifth time in ATCC/Supercars history that one event has staged two races under lights, and just the third time in Australia.

Supercars races in Abu Dhabi were both under lights in 2010 and 2011.

The first time one event staged two night races on Australian shores was at Calder Park in 1997. Perth hosted two night races in 2019.

  • 2021 Supercars season to resume under Sydney lights

The November 6-7 event will also feature up and coming drivers from the NSW Formula Ford and NSW Production Touring Cars categories.

Formula Ford has long been a stepping stone for drivers looking to make their way into Supercars.

Supercars champions Craig Lowndes, Garth Tander and Jamie Whincup all claimed national Formula Ford titles.

The likes of Will Davison, David Reynolds, Nick Percat, Chaz Mostert, Cameron Waters, Jack Le Brocq, Anton De Pasquale and Thomas Randle all enjoyed Formula Ford success.

Every Supercars Championship winner since 2003 has raced Formula Ford at some point in their career.

Supercars are back in Sydney

The NSW Production Touring Cars Championship is a series combining the production car categories of Street Sedans and Saloon Cars.

The event is the second of four that will run at Sydney Motorsport Park over October and November.

Supercars will begin the event with two 30-minute practice sessions and one knockout ARMOR ALL Qualifying session prior to Saturday night’s race.

There will be two ARMOR ALL Qualifying sessions and two races, the second of which will run under lights to conclude the event.

The event will be broadcast exclusively live on Fox Sports and streamed live on Kayo.

The Seven Network will showcase highlights of the event.

Ticketing information will be released early next week. Corporate tickets now available.
