A Super2 title would prove the final piece of an historic 2022 puzzle for Triple Eight.

Never before has a team won the Bathurst 1000, Supercars drivers’ and teams’ titles, and Super2 title in the same year.

Triple Eight secured three of the crowns across the last two events.

Shane van Gisbergen won the Bathurst 1000, before clinching the drivers’ title on the Gold Coast Saturday.

A day later, Red Bull Ampol Racing sealed the teams’ championship.

Triple Eight also backed the Bathurst 12 Hour-winning SunEnergy1 Racing effort.

Who will win the Super2 title?

Heading to Adelaide, Declan Fraser is in the box seat to take out this year’s Dunlop Super2 Series title.

Fraser leads Tickford Racing’s Zak Best by 75 points with one round — the VALO Adelaide 500 — remaining.

Cameron Hill, Fraser’s Triple Eight teammate, is also within striking distance.

The 2021 Carrera Cup champion is 165 points behind his teammate.

Best, Matt Payne and Tyler Everingham are the only three drivers who can spoil Triple Eight’s party.

Payne, who will shift to the main game in 2023, is 132 points behind leader Fraser.

The New Zealander has never raced in Adelaide, but is keen to take a Super2 title in Supercars.

Everingham, 171 points behind Fraser, is an outside chance.

However, he has been a fixture of the front all season, and could help MW Motorsport to a third title in four years.

The quadruple has evaded teams since the development series' inception in 2000.

Triple Eight won all titles bar the Great Race in 2011 and 2021.

Andrew Thompson won the 2011 development series, with Broc Feeney winning last year.

In both years, a Triple Eight car was narrowly pipped to Bathurst victory.

Stone Brothers Racing did the same in 2003 — Marcos Ambrose won the Supercars title, and a 22-year-old Mark Winterbottom won the second-tier series.
