To commemorate National Volunteers Week, Supercars.com has highlighted 9 key statistics.

NUMBER OF CURRENT VOLUNTEERS: 6196

More than 6000 people are currently ‘active’ in the Supercars volunteer database, dedicating their time to support live motorsport events.

Event and race officials complete many different roles, from gatekeepers and fire and rescue marshals, to accreditation and corporate attendants.

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS ATTENDING EVENTS IN 2021: 3940

Over the 12 rounds of the 2021 Repco Supercars championship, more than 3900 individuals will attend a race weekend to volunteer their time in both paddock and on-track roles.

VOLUNTEERS WITH 10 YEARS OF SERVICE: 204

More than 200 officials have participated in Supercars events for 10 or more years.

OLDEST VOLUNTEER: 89

A treasured official in the information booth at the Gold Coast event takes the crown as our oldest official.

Our youngest participant involved in Supercars events is just 13 years of age.

OFFICIALS FROM OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA: 56

While a majority of our officials call Australia home, there are 56 volunteers across New Zealand, UK, USA, Belgium, Canada, France, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore who support Supercars events across the country.

MOST POPULAR EVENT: Bathurst 1000

This is the statistic that doesn’t surprise us. The Great Race attracts the most applications for race and event officials most years and is likely to be on many officials' bucket lists.

BOTTLES OF WATER PROVIDED TO VOLUNTEERS AT BATHURST 1000: 8640

Keeping the very important people, our officials, hydrated is thirsty work.

MOST VOLUNTEERS AT ONE EVENT: GOLD COAST

The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will see 750 race and event officials dedicate their time in December, making the season finale the biggest officials’ event of the year.
