Tickford Racing has revealed its second Gen3 Ford — Thomas Randle’s #55 Castrol Racing Mustang — of 2023.

2020 Super2 champion Randle will again carry the familiar Castrol green this season.

The 2023 car features more green than its predecessor, with Randle racing a Gen3 Mustang last year.

The #55 also has backing from BP, Herzog Steel, Ryco, DBA, NTI, Infinium Advisory, ACT Fence Hire and Team Navy.

The new #55 Mustang will make its track debut at Winton Motor Raceway on Monday.

It comes after Cam Waters shook down his #6 Ford at the Benalla circuit last Wednesday.

Waters and Randle will be joined by James Courtney and the latest Super2 champion, Declan Fraser, in 2023.

The new season is also a chance at redemption for Randle after a luckless 2022.

“2022 was definitely a roller coaster of year for myself, we had some great moments, and also plenty of challenging ones as well,” Randle said.

"I certainly learnt a lot and I am really keen to take those lessons into this next generation of cars and move forward.

"I felt like we were really starting to show our potential at the back end of the season so I’m looking forward to continuing that momentum with my engineer Ray [Lau] and the whole Car 55 crew.

"It’s exciting to be a part of this next generation car, it should be great for the fans to see the close racing on track and hopefully they’ll see the Castrol Racing Mustang back at the top.

"I have been working very hard over the off season and the team has been putting in maximum effort in preparing the new cars and working on how we can get on top of them, I feel I’m as prepared as I can be.

"With these new regulations, it will be interesting to see each team’s approach.

"Newcastle will undoubtedly be a great event to have back and it will be a learning curve for everyone, making it a great opportunity for it to be anyone’s game.

"I’d love to get some great results to reward the team and also our loyal partners and members.”

Castrol Marketing Director Jotika Prasad added: "The Gen3 Castrol Racing Mustang looks absolutely fantastic and will definitely turn heads on and off-track.

"With Thomas closing out the season strong we have every confidence that he’s going to take his late-season form into 2023 and hit the ground running."

Tickford will reveal its Waters, Courtney and Fraser liveries in the coming days.

The Campbellfield team will test its four cars together at the all-in Sydney Motorsport Park test on February 22.

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle on March 10-12.

Tickets are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.
