James Courtney will carry a fresh new look on his Tickford Mustang to commence 2022.

The 2010 champion will carry Opposite Lock branding on his Tickford Supercar this weekend in Sydney.

The 4WD Accessories chain has joined Tickford ahead of this weekend’s Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.

It comes as Tickford extends its relationship with Opposite Lock’s parent company Bapcor.

Courtney returns for a second full season with Tickford, having the joined the team midway through 2020.

He finished 11th overall in 2021, and scored his only podium at Sydney Motorsport Park, the venue of this weekend’s season opener.

Courtney assumes the team's famous #5 for 2022, the number Tickford carried to championship and Bathurst wins.

"It’s great to be back getting ready for a new season, and fantastic to have Opposite Lock joining the team on the No. 5 Mustang," Courtney said.

"On the race track we try and keep it on the black stuff, but I enjoy going off road with the kids away from the track.

“It’s great to have the support of a team that’s passionate about four-wheel driving.

"I’m really looking forward to this one, obviously a new season is always exciting, but I feel really settled in with the team at the moment.

"We had a positive test day last week which is a good boost of confidence heading into the first race of the year.

"The car looks great, and we’ll do our best to make the team at Opposite Lock proud this weekend."

Opposite Lock National Manager Robert Stella added: "We’re thrilled to partner with Tickford Racing and James Courtney ahead of the new Supercars season.

"Teaming up with a winning team in Tickford and a champion in James is a great opportunity for our brand.

"Tickford has a great relationship with our sibling brands in Autobarn and Chicane.

“We’re very happy to join the family and be a part of the team in kicking off the 2022 season in the best way possible.

"The Opposite Lock Racing Mustang looks fantastic, and we can’t wait to watch James pedal it hard on track this weekend."
