Tickford Racing has set about logging heavy programmes at Winton for official pre-season testing.

At the halfway mark of Friday's running, the three Tickford entries combined for 220 laps of the rural Victorian circuit.

Last year's runner-up Cameron Waters, aided by team co-driver James Moffat, helped the #6 Monster Energy Ford to a day-high 88 laps.

The #20 DEWALT Commodore of Scott Pye, who is sharing with James Golding, was next with 76 laps.

The #44 Boost Mobile Mustang of James Courtney, with Thomas Randle also getting behind the wheel, was one of three cars to clock 67 laps to the halfway mark.

However, Randle brought the car to a stop in the infield after leaving the circuit at Turn 5, triggering a red flag.

Pye, who had an early off at Turn 5, helped the #20 to 67 laps, the same as Nick Percat's #8 R&J Batteries entry and the Bryce Fullwood #2 Middy's Electrical-backed Walkinshaw Andretti United Commodore.

Jack Le Brocq, aboard his new #5 Truck Assist Mustang, clocked 65 laps.

Erebus Motorsport rookie Will Brown remained on top of the time sheets after his flyer set in the morning runs.

Brown registered his 1:19.5089s flyer on the hour mark aboard his #99 Commodore.

The 22-year-old's lap could stand for the day, with a high of 31 degrees expected for the afternoon.

The 2021 season will commence at the Repco Mt Panorama 500 next weekend.

Tickets for the event are on sale now.
