Tickets for the first ever races between the Gen3 Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro are now on sale.

Dates are now confirmed for the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship season opener on the spectacular streets of Newcastle.

With Heritage NSW approval now confirmed, Supercars has begun preparations for the highly anticipated debut of the new era of racing between the Camaro and Mustang, which will roll out on the Newcastle Street Circuit for their official debut from March 10-12 2023.

Tickets have gone on sale for Grandstand, General Admission and Corporate facilities for the event that will see Supercars’ race door-to-door around the picturesque CBD circuit. CLICK HERE to purchase your tickets.

Platinum Reserve Grandstands at Turn 1 looking up Watt Street, Nobby’s Road into the hairpin with views of the circuit and inside the circuit at the final corner are all now on sale.

Each Platinum Reserve Grandstand offers allocated undercover seating providing shade from the sun and protection from the elements near big screens, food and drink outlets and amenities.

Trackside tickets allow fans to walk around and capture all of the action from on and off the track.

Support category and entertainment announcements for the March event will be made over coming weeks.

Supercars will be on track on all three days of the event and fans will be able to get up close with their favourite drivers across race week celebrations.

Two-time Bathurst 1000 champion Chaz Mostert will roll out in a Walkinshaw Andretti United Ford Mustang for the first time, following the team’s decision to switch allegiances from 2023 after decades of success with Holden.

Superscars CEO Shane Howard said: “We’re thrilled that the dates are now locked in for our return to Newcastle and the debut of the Gen3 Camaro and Mustang.

“The Newcastle 500 is a world-class motorsport event, and we look forward to attracting the attention of motorsport enthusiasts and, once again, stage an event which sees flow-on benefits for the city’s hotels, bars, restaurants and retailers.

“We’ve waited three years for our return, and we want to make sure Newcastle 2023 is an event to remember for years to come."

City of Newcastle Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes said: “Newcastle and the Hunter enjoy a huge racing supporter base and I’m confident they will love to attend the season opener.

"Local tourism and accommodation providers that have been heavily impacted by COVID-19 will be looking forward to and benefit from the economic stimulus provided by the Newcastle 500's return."

Tickets purchased for the 2022 Newcastle 500 originally scheduled in March will be valid for the 2023 event.

Anyone who purchased and requested a refund should be aware their tickets will no longer be valid.
