Monday January 17 at 6.00pm: 1999 Sydney Race 1

The 1999 Supercars Championship round in Sydney commenced with Mark Skiafe leading a front-row lockout for the Holden Racing Team.

A poor start from Craig Lowndes saw him swallowed by the pack but the HRT ace recovered to fifth before Turn 3.

Lap 4 saw Lowndes locked in battle with Larry Perkins and Garth Tander, while Skaife skipped off into the distance.

Seconds later Todd Kelly came unstuck through Turn 1, making heavy contact with the concrete barrier.

With his Holden Young Lions entry badly damaged, Kelly’s race was over.

Jason Bright applied pressure to Skaife in the closing moments but was unable to stop the charging Commodore to victory.

Wednesday January 19 at 6.00pm: 1999 Sydney Race 3

The final race in Sydney saw another front row lockout for HRT with Perkins starting from third.

A disastrous start from Perkins saw him narrowly avoid contact with Tander before chaos ensued at Turn 1.

Tony Longhurst speared off ahead of Turn 2, and Tander spun around in front of the field.

John Bowe was collected when Dugal McDougall run across the track in the mid-pack, with Bowe able to drive away from the incident.

The race was red-flagged moments later when Tomas Mezera came to a stop in the middle of the track at Turn 4.

The race restarted with nine laps to run, Skaife again taking the lead off the line.

The field continued to negotiate the tricky Eastern Creek circuit, with Perkins coming unstuck with one lap to go, sliding off at Turn 1, coming to rest in the gravel trap.

Skaife claimed his third victory of the weekend, winning the round, with Tander recording his first Supercars podium finish.

Friday January 21 at 6.00pm: 2002 Sandown Race 28

Skaife started an uncharacteristic 15th at Sandown Raceway, after dominating the 2002 championship so far, winning seven out of 12 rounds.

Marcos Ambrose started from pole, with Craig Lowndes alongside him.

Greg Murphy got a good start from fourth, jumping up to second by Turn 1.

Lap 2 saw Max Wilson take out Russell Ingall, narrowly missing John Bowe.

However, Ambrose sailed to victory ahead of Murphy, with Skaife recovering to finish fifth.
