Monday October 25 at 6.00pm: 2006 Perth Race 7

Race 2 began with a reverse grid format, with Paul Radisich starting from pole alongside Todd Kelly.

After finishing second in Saturday’s 50-lap race, Steven Richards started from 30th.

A clever strategy from the Jack Daniel’s squad saw Richards run longer than most of the 31-car field, allowing him to build a time buffer over main competitor Mark Skaife.

The move paid dividends when race leader Radisich was bumped into a spin at the very last corner with fuel pump dramas, handing Dean Canto victory.

Richards finished the race a brilliant second and, most importantly, ahead of Skaife.

Tuesday October 26 at 6.00pm: 2006 Winton Race 10

The second race at Winton featured the third reverse grid of the 2006 season.

Marcus Marshall and Jason Richards began from the front with Jamie Whincup starting from fourth, the latter having finished 25th in Saturday’s opener.

Richards dominated the 46-lap race, snatching the lead from Marshall on lap 2.

The Kiwi remained untouchable to the flag, winning by over 15 seconds over former teammate Whincup.

Wednesday October 27 at 6.00pm: 1999 Queensland 500 Race 32

The inaugural Queensland 500 hosted Round 12 of the 1999 Shell Championship Series and the first endurance race at the Ipswich circuit.

The #4 Stone Brothers Racing Falcon of Jason Bright and Craig Baird started from pole, with Bright leading the way.

Paul Radisich claimed the lead from Bright on lap 9, with Jason Bargwanna following soon after.

Mark Skaife suffered damage in an incident with Bright, spinning into the Turn 4 infield.

The Holden driver could only finish 22nd, giving teammate Craig Lowndes a large points advantage after his place finish.

Russell Ingall took the lead from Bargwanna after a Safety Car at quarter-race distance, and after a solid middle stanza by Larry Perkins, the #11 Castrol Commodore regained the lead following the stops on lap 118.

Ingall led until the flag, helping Perkins claim his final championship race victory.

Thursday October 28 at 6.00pm: 2006 Perth Race 8

Steven Richards started from pole for the second 140-kilometre race alongside Garth Tander.

The grid for the final race in Perth was set based on combined points from the previous two races.

Mark Skaife got the jump on Craig Lowndes off the line, with Tander and Richards battling side-by-side into Turn 1.

Richards retained his lead, albeit under pressure from Tander, Skaife and Lowndes.

Tander was able to build a 25-second gap over Skaife before heading into pit lane on lap 20, and rejoined in fifth.

Intense battles ensued throughout the field, with several drivers spearing off into the sand.

Skaife would prevail to win the 56-lap race with Lowndes unable to catch his former teammate.

Richards' consistency across the weekend saw him claim the round win, despite not claiming victory in either of the three races.
