Monday September 27 at 6.00pm: 2000 Winton Race 20

Winton hosted the eighth round of the 2000 championship, with the opening sprint seeing Glenn Seton start on pole alongside Garth Tander.

Disaster struck Mark Skaife on the opening lap, with the eventual champion facing the wrong way in oncoming traffic.

Skaife tried to escape the pile-up, but discovered the front left tyre on his Commodore was completely damaged.

Less than half a lap in, and Skaife’s race was over.

Tander would hold off Seton to the flag, with Neil Crompton taking third.

Tuesday September 28 at 6.00pm: 2000 Winton Race 21

The second race at Winton saw Tander start on pole following his Race 20 victory, with Seton starting alongside him.

Seton managed to beat Tander off the line, with a race-long battle ensuing between Craig Lowndes and Greg Murphy.

Russell Ingall and Cameron McConville came unstuck with three laps to go, both drivers spearing off the circuit.

Seton would lead the race to the end, scoring his first win since 1998 and the final victory of his decorated career.

Wednesday September 29 at 10.00am: 2000 Winton Race 22

Seton led away the final race of the weekend, with a hot battle between the top four contenders ensuing.

Mayhem erupted on lap 2; several cars spun off, including race leaders Seton and Tander.

Benefitting from others' misfortune, Jason Bargwanna claimed the lead and held off Paul Radisich to the end, winning in the closest race finish in Winton history.

Thursday September 30 at 6.00pm: 2003 Perth Race 8

Reigning champion Mark Skaife and Marcos Ambrose started off the line at Barbagallo Raceway in 2003.

Skaife suffered a poor start, dropping back to third with Ambrose taking the lead.

The 42-lap race saw battles ongoing throughout the field, before Paul Dumbrell beached himself at Turn 6 in the final stint.

After a Safety Car appearance, the race restarted with just three laps to go.

However, it was required again just moments later when Steven Ellery locked up on the main straight, spectacularly landing on his roof.

The lights went out on the Safety Car for a one-lap dash to the flag, but no one was able to stop Ambrose's charge to victory.
