Monday January 24 at 6.00pm: 2001 Sydney Race 6

Greg Murphy started from pole at Eastern Creek alongside Mark Skaife for the second race in Sydney.

Craig Lowndes started from 12th despite winning the opening race, being stripped of his victory for overtaking Murphy under Safety Car conditions.

The New Zealand driver got the jump on the Holden ace off the line, creating a two-second gap over Skaife by the end of lap 1.

Disaster struck moments later when Murphy was handed a stop-go penalty for creeping at the start.

This gifted Skaife the lead, with the HRT driver sailing to victory ahead of teammate Jason Bright.

Thursday January 28 at 6.00pm: 2001 Darwin Race 9

A race to forget for Greg Murphy.

The Kiwi driver started from pole ahead of championship leader Jason Bright at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Bright got the jump on Murphy off the line, but a charging Skaife saw his Holden teammate slip to third by Turn 1.

Murphy comfortably led the opening stint of the 35-lap race, with Skaife taking his compulsory stop on lap 11.

Murphy came in two laps later, with a quick stop ensuring he retained his lead.

Looking good to win the round in Darwin, disaster struck for Murphy with just ten laps to go.

The hot conditions saw his Commodore suffer brake trouble, with Murphy forced to concede to Skaife on lap 25.

Within the next lap, Murphy has slipped out of podium contention, with Skaife sailing to victory.

Sunday January 30 at 6.00pm: 1999 Sydney Race 2

A perfect start from Skaife saw him sail into the lead at Eastern Creek, with Jason Bright coming under pressure from young bull Garth Tander.

Tander muscled his way into second by the end of lap 1, starting to apply pressure to Skaife.

Rod Nash came unstuck moments later, making contact with the concrete barrier before Neil Crompton spun off onto the infield.

Battles ensued throughout the field with Craig Lowndes closing in on Tander by lap 4.

Tander succumbed to the defending champion and slipped to fourth, with Larry Perkins rounding out the podium.
