Anton De Pasquale’s Race 10 victory at the OTR SuperSprint marked Ford’s 400th ATCC/Supercars race win, capping a decorated history in Australian motorsport.

It came nearly 10 years after Holden brought up the milestone through Jamie Whincup at Symmons Plains in November 2011.

Holden is by far and away the most successful marque, having won 578 races to Ford’s 401.

Ford fans had to wait nine races for a Mustang to cross the line first in 2021, with Andre Heimgartner scoring a maiden career win on Saturday.

Mustangs went two from two to bring up the 400, with De Pasquale driving from pole to victory in Race 10.

Ian Geoghegan’s Lakeside win aboard a Cortina in 1964, 31 years before De Pasquale was born, was Ford’s first win in the ATCC.

The Blue Oval wasn’t done there, with Cameron Waters holding off Shane van Gisbergen to clinch the Race 11 win.

Through Waters’ win, three different Ford drivers shared three wins on a weekend for the first time.

The current Mustang GT model, which debuted in 2019, scored its 38th, 39th and 40th wins on the weekend, having brought up the 100th podium for the Mustang nameplate at Sandown.

Waters clocked win No. 40 for the Mustang GT

Win No. 40 took the Mustang past the Falcon BF into fourth on Ford’s all-time wins list.

The Falcon FG X is next on 45, behind the Falcon BA (51) and Falcon FG X (55).

Scott McLaughlin, who won three titles for the Shell V-Power Racing Team between 2018 and 2020, is the Blue Oval’s most successful driver.

Between 2017 and 2020, McLaughlin won a Ford record 48 races, 10 more than next-best Mark Winterbottom.

The Shell Ford squad, famously known as Dick Johnson Racing, has taken 138 wins and 120 pole positions.

Ford has taken 328 poles, with Holden currently on 368.

The Repco Supercars Championship field will return to Victoria for the Winton SuperSprint across May 29-30. Tickets are available here.

The event will be broadcast live on Foxtel and will be streamed on Kayo with highlights on 7 and 7 Plus.
