Four drivers on this year's grid are aiming for their first wins since 2016 when the new season commences in Sydney.

James Courtney, Tim Slade, Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom are among the sport’s most successful drivers.

However, they all share something in common; they haven’t won in six years.

  • Who will join the Supercars winners list in 2022?

Courtney, the 2010 champion, currently has the longest winless streak of drivers who have won a race with 174 starts.

Then driving for the Holden Racing Team, Courtney won the second race of the 2016 season in Adelaide. He hasn’t won since.

Slade scored his two career victories at Winton. Later in the 2016 season, Davison won the Great Race, before Winterbottom won at Pukekohe.

Seven drivers on this year’s grid won a race in 2021. Shane van Gisbergen won 14 of them and the title, the last of his wins coming in Sydney.

Driver profile: Who is James Courtney?

Chaz Mostert and Lee Holdsworth combined to win the last start Repco Bathurst 1000 in December.

Grove Racing recruit Holdsworth was Mostert’s co-driver at Walkinshaw Andretti United, and scored his first since since Winton 2014.

Will Brown and Andre Heimgartner became the latest winners when they won last season. They are now in the one-win club, and will be looking for more in 2022.

Leaving that club was Anton De Pasquale, who won six races in 2021, five of them coming at Sydney Motorsport Park.
