Four drivers on the 2021 grid are aiming for their first wins in 2016 when the season resumes in Sydney this weekend.

This weekend's ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight is the ninth round of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship.

Last weekend, Will Davison loomed to grab his first win since 2016, but electrical dramas relegated him to second in Race 21 behind Shane van Gisbergen.

Davison is one of four active drivers - along with Tim Slade, Mark Winterbottom and James Courtney - to have last tasted victory in 2016.

To this weekend, six drivers have won a race in 2021: van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, Chaz Mostert, Cameron Waters, Anton De Pasquale and Andre Heimgartner.

De Pasquale won two races at last weekend's Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight, with van Gisbergen also winning his 12th race of the year.

Heimgartner became the 81st driver in ATCC/Supercars history to win a race when he broke through for Kelly Grove Racing at the OTR SuperSprint.

17 stunning moments from the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight

Of 24 full-time drivers, nine have yet to win a race. Todd Hazelwood leads the way with most starts without a win for an active driver with 116.

Behind Hazelwood are Macauley Jones (103), Garry Jacobson (88), Jack Smith (66), Bryce Fullwood (58), Jake Kostecki (40), Zane Goddard (37), Will Brown (32) and Brodie Kostecki (28).

Brown and Kostecki are likely to break their ducks first; both Erebus Motorsport drivers scored podiums in Sydney last weekend.

Paul Weel holds the record with most races without a win (226) ahead of Brad Jones (225), John Faulkner (220) and Tony D'Alberto (212).

Russell Ingall and Greg Murphy will return for December's Repco Bathurst 1000. Ingall made 310 starts between his most recent win (Oran Park 2005) and his most recent start (Gold Coast 2016).

Murphy's last win came on the Gold Coast in 2005, and made 223 more starts before he pulled up stumps in 2014. The Kiwi still holds the record for the most wins without a title.

Zero races: Anton De Pasquale (2021 Sydney Motorsport Park, Race 22)

Anton De Pasquale won his first race in Darwin last year for Erebus Motorsport. He broke his Shell V-Power Racing Team duck at The Bend in May, before dominating last weekend's Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.

One race: Shane van Gisbergen (2021 Sydney Motorsport Park, Race 21)

Shane van Gisbergen claimed his 12th win of the season last weekend, outlasting Will Davison in an enthralling Race 21. Van Gisbergen benefited from Davison's electrical dramas and a shorter stop to register his fifth win at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Three races: Cameron Waters (2021 Townsville, Race 19)

Cameron Waters won at The Bend in May, and added two more at July's WD-40 Townsville SuperSprint. It was the first time since 2015 that Tickford won two or more races on a weekend.

10 races: Chaz Mostert (2021 Darwin, Race 12)

Chaz Mostert ended his two-year wait for victory at Symmons Plains earlier this year, and added a second win in the chaotic Darwin opener in June.

13 races: Andre Heimgartner (2021 Tailem Bend, Race 9)

After 171 starts, Andre Heimgartner became a Supercars race winner at The Bend Motorsport Park in May. It was also Kelly Grove Racing's first win under its new ownership.

15 races: Jamie Whincup (2021 Tasmania, Race 7)

Jamie Whincup's 123rd career win - and only win of 2021 so far - came at Symmons Plains in April. It was his record 13th win at the Tasmanian circuit.

28 races: Fabian Coulthard (2020 The Bend, Race 25)

Fabian Coulthard's 13th and most recent race win came for the Shell V-Power Racing Team in a Tailem Bend thriller last September. He has yet to reach the top 10 in his maiden Team Sydney season.

41 races: Jack Le Brocq (2020 Sydney Motorsport Park, Race 12)

Jack Le Brocq's maiden race win came over five years after his main game debut. Le Brocq defeated Andre Heimgartner, Todd Hazelwood and David Reynolds in the 2020 Sydney finale to finally win his first race.

42 races: Nick Percat (2020 Sydney Motorsport Park, Race 11)

Nick Percat won two races at Sydney Motorsport Park last year; he won Race 8 at the first event, before winning Race 11 at the following event.

81 races: David Reynolds (2018 Newcastle, Race 31)

David Reynolds claimed his seventh career win on the streets of Newcastle in 2018. He went winless in his final two seasons for Erebus in 2019 and 2020 before be moved to Kelly Grove Racing.

107 races: Scott Pye (2018 Albert Park. Race 5)

Scott Pye waited 165 races to record his first win, taken in fading light at Albert Park in 2018. It was Walkinshaw Andretti United's first win under its new guise, and remained the team's last until Mostert broke through in Tasmania in April.

141 races: Mark Winterbottom (2016 Auckland, Race 26)

Exactly five years ago - on November 6, 2016 - Mark Winterbottom claimed his most recent race win. It was Winterbottom's 38th career victory. He is still chasing his first Team 18 podium, having debuted for Charlie Schwerkolt's team in 2019. He won Race 3 at Sydney Motorsport Park in 2008.

146 races: Will Davison (2016 Bathurst, Race 21)

Will Davison was close last weekend, leading the balance of Race 21 before electrical gremlins reared their head. He has made 119 starts since his 2016 Bathurst win, with 146 races passing since. Davison missed out on the majority of the 2020 season after 23Red Racing closed its doors. He won his first ever race at Sydney Motorsport Park in 2008.

156 races: Tim Slade (2016 Winton, Race 11)

Tim Slade waited 226 races for a maiden win, taken at Winton for Brad Jones Racing in 2016. He went back-to-back on the following day, but hasn't won since. He has showed glimpses of speed in 2021 aboard his #3 CoolDrive Mustang, notably finishing fourth in Townsville. He scored three top 10s in the first Sydney event. He has never won at Sydney Motorsport Park.

165 races: James Courtney (2016 Adelaide, Race 2)

James Courtney has started 165 races since his Race 2 victory on the streets of Adelaide in 2016. The 2010 champion has made 485 race starts for 15 race victories. He has never won at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Every session of the ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo from 12:30pm AEDT on both days.

The Seven Network will showcase highlights of the event. Tickets for the three upcoming Sydney events are on sale now.
